1970 dart swinger tail stripe, help needed

@K.O. SWINGER
Wash the *** end of the car, mild soap and warm water, you want to remove the wax/cleaner on the painted surfaces. You would want the water to pool on the trunk lid instead of beading and shedding off normally as if it was wax. The car should be cool to the touch, get your spray bottle set up, faucet water with just a drop of dish soap, you are not blowing bubbles....

Lay the stripes out flat and give it a day for them to relax. Remove the rear park lenses and cleaned the recessed area and in the trunk area around the hole.

The fender stripes go on first and run parallel with the fender extensions and ALSO the park lens hole is centered in the stripe. The top on the stripe just touches the rubber trunk weather stripping.

Water bottle, and spray and spray the underside of the stripe, you cannot over spray here, carefully position the stripe as stated above. Damp sponge squeeze some of the water off. Make a cut like this >----< where your holes are and gently tuck the flaps into the trunk area. Repeat for the other side, the hard part is done. You have to make a choice here... cut the stripe where it meets the rear valance and tuck it in or not.

The big easy, spray the trunk lid and underside for the stripe, gently position the stripe using the already there fender strip for aliment and center the stripe by looking how much you have hanging over the edge of the trunk. When done open trunk lid water spray and take the stripe and work it around the underside of the lid. Use sponge ever so gently if you have bubbles they will dry out or take a needle pop it. Let sit out in the sun and stand back and give it big smile...
