Valiant is no more, Drunk Driver totaled it.

Man sucks to see this for sure.

As others have said, I've seen some amazing things done to wrecked cars in similar situations.

I grew up in Riverside County, where exactly did this happen? I remember there used to be a corner house off of Wells Ave in Riverside that had about 4 different 60's Valiants/Signets parked out front when I was growing up. Would always worry about someone crashing into them due to the higher traffic on Wells.

Norco near river road, you may of seen me drive around that part of riverside before I was always out there often cruising around when I lived there.

I have seen magic done, but I think the labor on trying to make this thing right again would drain me financially.

thank you all for the advice and any info about similar cars anyone sees helps me out a ton, I appreciate this community immensely.

This is a major bummer seeing your car, I’m heartbroken. I’m sure you are too, and I’m sorry to hear about this disaster. Hoping for the best outcome possible here!

I am so sorry. I'm sure beyond 100% certain that there's somebody out there somewhere who could fix that. It would be a tremendous undertaking, but it could be done. That said, it would be extremely labor intensive. That is such a shame. .....and it's my favorite year Valiant, too. I was looking for a 63 when @Princess Valiant sent me a link to Vixen. I had to strike while the iron was hot, because these cars......good ones at least don't just fall out of the sky everyday.

crappy van looks like a ford windstar, worried about the crap insurance he is most likely gonna have. :(

......or none. This was in your driveway, right? Give your homeowners a ring. Sometimes they cover things like this on the insured property. It's worth a call.

Sorry for your loss that was a nice looking car, but i would look at it this way if that car didn't stop that drunk driver he would of probably ran into your house. Might of hurt somebody. Maybe Grandpa is still looking after you guys in some way.

wouldnt surprise me if his insurance would decline to pay since he was not legally sober enough to drive
not worried about this really very rarely this happens in my state, insurance has to prove it was intentional which is a very very difficult thing to prove something with no evidence of intention. I doubt they will ever know what really happened to prove anything other then he drank and drove and damaged my property. I am more worried his insurance is gonna cap out and only give me a portion of the value of my car, then ill have to fill out a report with the DA for restitution which could take years to get my money out of them. if they try not to pay me what I am owed legally that is when I tag in my wife the Microsoft corporate Attorney, they kinda relie on people not wanting to pay for legal battles which me and my wife have nothing but time.

I am sad for you, glad your wife's company can help with the legal. Hoping for the best for you

My sis's Saab 99 (really weird looking car, engine was backwards in it) Was totaled by a drunk. She took him to court and won a civil suit to get some money out of the uninsured bum. Guy lost, and she was awarded $3K. Guy threw up his hands and said good luck collecting, I'm unemployed now. Never saw a dime. Im glad your perp was insured.

I'm sorry guys these prices are just unrealistic.

You just can not compare the 63 to this car. But really sorry for your lost. But I hope you get a fair price for it and you can purchase the car back from them to sell off parts and such.

Why not? 2 years difference in age won't make a whole lot of difference? Difference in the red one being a V8 and his being a /6 will make little difference. The red car is an all original, low mile, original condition vehicle. His car is/was the same thing, but 2 model years older. Finding comps on 60ish year old cars isn't like comparing totaled 2020 Dodge Challengers.

Depends on your state laws and the amount of effort you are willing to put into it. There's a reason OJ lives in Florida, where the plaintiff not only can't seize your house and car, but pensions either. No idea about California though.
OP, I hope your wife can work some legal magic!

So what do you think it's worth?

It's fixable, it just takes money......and some parts.
its beyond my skill for sure, maybe someone would be willing to take on the whole car as a project cause I will be getting the car back as well at the end of this it's not gonna leave my yard, I want the parts to goto other people who need them for their cars at the very least the money isn't really as important to me, already been boxing knobs and little parts so no one comes and steals anything cause there is no way for me to secure the car with the guy taking out the gate it was behind aswell, this was a complete car it didn't need one thing.

Hell it might come with a brand new husky floor jack if i can't get the trunk open. gotta laugh so i don't cry.
