1000 MPH. Would you?

Fastest I've gone is 500 mph, and that was over 40,000 ft high. No, I wouldn't do a 1000 on the ground

Not a chance. LOL. Death can come quickly at a thousand miles and hour.

I wouldn't. I don't consider push engines (Jet/rocket) a car? It's a plane that's grounded. With no drivetrain? It's not a car. JMO.

In Michigan we have potholes.

but everyone knows there is a sweetspot where if you go fast enough, the vehicle doesnt have a chance to drop into the hole before it pops back out
its like skipping a stone over a pond, as long as you go fast enough, it wont sink

I was once told, “If you’re not living in the edge, you are taking up too much space!” Based on that old adage, I’m OK with taking up too much space!!

NASA has that rail sled that travels 3500 MPH. I guess to test components? To qualify for a land speed record. Power has to self contained. And controlled by a driver. But the kicker? You have to do it twice? Taking the combined average speed. So the real question? Would you do it again?

All the years I lived out in the desert, for some unknown reason, we never took the time to take a 45 minute drive to El Mirage and watch the SCTA events. Now that it's 4 hours away, it's on my bucket list .

From my father's adventures at El Mirage.

It doesn't look like there's enough aero to keep the thing from pulling a wheelie and shooting skyward, or end over end.

I'd want to have an ejector capsule.

From the text of the article, it's not the lightweight vehicle you would expect.

There will definitely be a sonic boom at
Mach 1- 767.269 mph

Until Space X started recycling their rocket boosters back to VAFB, The last sonic boom I heard was the Space Shuttle passing by on it's way to Edwards AFB. Sonic booms were an everyday thing when I was a kid in the desert
