Bump Switch

-
I have to admit, that’s the way I do it most of the time. Sometimes with a long S-K 1/2 inch drive ratchet, more often with a 3/4 inch drive craftsman breaker bar

all being said , i still prefer to roll it by hand , 1 1/14'' socket and an 18'' ratchet .
AINT HARD ON UR STARTER AND RING GEAR EITHER !

Yeh but there's quite a few engines (including slants...............) that don't have that gorgeous nice big bolt on the front...........

One thing I used to do on a "stick" vehicle, but doesn't work well on say, 3/4T with stiff suspension, if you are trying to "bump" it that last little bit for setting points or whatever, put it in high hear and rock it fore and aft, you can move it "on the suspension" bounce

Ya, and with my clutch fan and rad shroud taking up all the real estate in front of my engine, I can't get to the crank bolt. Hence, I need a bump switch .
