Manual choke cable head ache

You have to mount them correctly to get them not to bind. "Lay" them in without kinking or stressing, and anchor the outer jacket properly "lined up" with the cable pull. It helps once it is 'layed in" to tie the jacket to handly adjacent harness anchors, etc with zip ties

To prevent rust, BEFORE you install it, and depending on "what it was on" (tractor, 4x4, etc) I sometimes inserted the cable inside something like fuel hose or a couple layers of heat shrink, pulled the innerd's out and greased it heavily

Treed by Del! :D

I was going to suggest making sure there are no sharp bends or twists. I've had many manual chokes and I try to get as straight a shot at the firewall and choke lever as I can. Fewer bends and twists is a good thing as is the lube idea.
