Just curious...what kind of main/rod clearances are you using with the thinner oil?


That does take some load off the pick up. You can only get the gerotor to pull X amount of depression. You can’t necessarily make the pump “suck” harder on the inlet."

LOL...depression and sucking...that’s from my limited education.

I’m running .0023 on the mains and .0021 on the rods.

How can you bolt a 5.9 Magnum oil pan to the 340 block? I thought the rear main cap was a different size.

By machining the rear cap to have it fit
 
The pipe is directly over the inlet from the normal pickup, plugged, rotor don’t care what side you draw the oil from. This is going in my E/Stock auto Duster.
Will have to do a little ‘work’ to the drag link

Two other big 340 stocker guys likes my design too, we have to use a stock pan, don’t care what year, no cutting and welding. Only one other rear sump pan made by Chrysler that fits the 340, 1989 Shelby RT Dakota 318, very very few made. When standing on the rear bumper that rear sump comes in handy.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...I was thinking what’s the pan rule for Stock and are you legal. I’ll say this because it’s obvious but DAMN that pan rule is ignorant. Stock Eliminator cars are leaving harder than ever and it’s way past time to let you guys run an aftermarket rear sump pan.

Just an ignorant rule.

talking with one racer seems they hardly ever check stuff now let along pull ya down. If you’re not a pro class you’re filler nowadays.

Sad. But very true. I’d rather watch a full day of Sportsman racing minus the super classes than a day of tire smoking, track oiling fuel cars. But my wife says I’m odd.
 
Racing starts to lose its luster as soon as you need more than one person to field a car.
