Scream'n 318 ?

A teen with 0.030" 9:1 KB pistons and a light wrist pin and 'WORKED' 273 rods, we re-balanced a stock 273 forged crank and removed over 3 pounds, 4 pounds before they added mallory metal.
Then mild ported 273 heads with 1.88/1.60 Manley small stem valves, a 272 cam, a Wiand Stealth and 625 AFB. A body 340 exh into a Flowmaster Y and 3" run back over the axle, it was real quite.
We were in the 12's in a 66 Vailant Wagon, 8 3/4 and 3.55 SG.

A rolling 20 MPH launch was brutal to many BBC guys.

We had all the parts on hand except the pistons, wrist pins and cam. Pistons were on sale so cheap.
and a '66 Wagon.. what a cool combo !!
