VW's are great! The first car engine I rebuilt was a 1600cc VW. Simplicity in design and efficiency! 65'

I was into them for a few years. Had a 63 Baja bug and a 66 Beetle. Easiest motors to rebuild I’ve ever come across.

Thanks for the alert Dick.

Yes, I'm one of those guys with that "weird hobby" you mention Cuda416.

I'm thinking it's a good thing that the border is closed to the US.

Here's my '66 Beetle.

Had a red 71 super beetle first year for front discs, black convertible top 1600cc engine hopped to 1735 drove it like it was a Porsche and wrapped it around a palm tree (yes there was a lot o wine and a girl involved)

I bought an entire '63 Beetle because he wouldn't just sell the roof and asked the old guy to cut the roof off and send it to me via Greyhound to Buffalo NY where I picked it up at the bus station.

Well, go on...

I need an og paint Elm Green left front fender for my squareback. Shipping to WA would be a deal breaker. Dang!

Had a 57 oval w ragtop, and a 71 square back with delortos, A 1600 dual port rail in h.s. fun machines.

VW’s are my euro guilty pleasure. I have a 93 eurovan mv 5spd. Love the thing, have a 2000ish TDI awaiting transplant when I get the time. Thankfully I haven’t cut a hole in the floor for a mid mount RB yet. As this has crossed my mind on several occasions
