I suspect this has been asked before but I am looking to install the spring relocation kit from USCT (Mopar A-Body 67-75 Spring Hanger Re-Location Kit) for my 66 Barracuda... I will be swapping to a 8 3/4 rear end and wondered after these changes what size tire could I fit... would prefer a larger Rim 16-17inch if possible with a wide stance but dont want to have to do any other modifications... Any help on rim, back spacing and tire specs would be great.

Also before you buy an expensive rim for this are there cheap steal wheels available to try out?

I have 245/45/17 on the back of my 66 without relocating the springs. They rub a little on the inside of the wheel house. I have about 3/8-1/2 inch clearance between the spring and the tire.
Even with the spring kit you'll probably need to mini tub to get a larger tire in there. The wheel houses aren't very big on the early A-bodies.

You can just see the slight rub mark

This is great info... looking at it closer I see what you mean about moving the springs and still needing to mini tub... @Greasyfingers for your Rim did you you have to do anything special for the back spacing?

They were just off the shelf American Racing wheels. I don't remember exactly what back spacing I used. It's been a few years since I purchased them. Definitely a 17x8 though.

It's got 3.23's. it's just a stock 273 with a 4bbl added, so not a big hp motor. Cruises down the highway just fine and has enough get up and go for me.
