64' Turbine car for sale

I remember seeing one on the road in Syracuse New York in the ‘60’s. Most likely one of the executive’s at New Process Gear may have had one to test drive or perhaps it was being used for transmission testing.

It shows the spare engine for sale for $100,000.
I saw this car at the Harrah's Auto Collection in Reno, Nevada probably around 1983 or 1984. I got to visit the collection or museum twice. Then I heard that Holiday Inn had bought out Harrah's but had no interest in the auto collection of over 700 cars, so most of the collection was to be auctioned.

Also at Harrah's in Reno was Big Daddy Ed Roth's Beatnik Bandit. I built a plastic model of this when I was a kid.

I remember building a plastic model of the turbine car when I was a little kid ! Museum of transportation in St. Louis had a turbine car years ago. I don't know if it's still there or not.
 
Got to see one of 'em driving around the parking lot at Indy decades ago. This was, "I think" the first year they'd had the Mopar Nats at Indy instead of "the other place". I only made it twice
 
I saw one parked on the side of the road in our local SoCal mountains back during the public test period. I made my dad stop so I could go back and take a look at it.
I've also seen the one that was (maybe still is) in the Los Angeles Museum of Science and Industry.
They're cool!
 
FCA has a running example of the turbine car at their museum. Got to watch them start it close up as I was standing next to it and it was quite loud.
Jay Leno has a running turbine car too.
There can't be that many of them left.
 
i still believe if chrysler built thoes now and put modern engines (5.7) in it they wouldn,t be able to keep them in stock.
 
Maybe FCA could make a retro version hybrid. They could use a small turbine to keep the batteries charged.
 
one of the original guys that worked on the orig design ended up being the head of the chrysler training center in st louis mo. his name is al bradshaw. think he lives in montana or utah now. i think also that the transportation museum in stl has one still.
