I had the emblems for my 70 dart gt but lost them and I am having a very hard time finding the right ones that I need to finish my car off with. Please see picture Any help would be great. ThanksView attachment 1715701772

I believe they made very few dart GTs in 1970. That's going to be a hard one to find. Just preparing you for that. Hope you find a pair.

I'm rebuilding a 1970 GT right now and just put emblems on it. They are the same emblem as a 1969 Dart GT, but they are installed in a different place on the quarter. This is important because there were A LOT more 69 GTs than 1970. I know that Layson's has them new, but I don't see them in their paper catalogue, just call and ask.

A word of caution - these things are really fragile as there are only 3 posts and the attachment between the letters of "DART" are really small. The posts on the repops are not exactly perfect, so if you just put barrel clips on and shove it in there you may bend or break the connection (don't ask me how I know this). In the end I left the barrel clips off of the "D" post and gave it more wiggle room and then out a pal nut on the back - the one on the drivers side is easy to do, but the one on the passenger side is father back and a ***** to get to.

What color is your car? I made a late decision to paint my GT Plum Crazy and had to buy all new interior. I have all the pieces for a beautiful two tone green bucket seat GT interior ( seat covers, door panels, plastic parts, armrests) that I can sell as a package reasonably. Like the interior below, but with buckets:

str12-340,

I see the vinyl top moldings, will you be adding a vinyl top?

BTW your avatar picture was the inspiration/reason my hood, scoops & cowl are painted gloss black too. Thanks!

Hi yes I will be replacing the vynal roof I think it adds to the overall great look of the car

Copper is a great color! These cars are really scarce, much more rare than a 340 Swinger of the same year. You had to buy the high level trim option (Dart Custom) and then add the A65 option to get a GT. Nicer trim inside and out. If you still have a glove box emblem that's why it says Dart Custom. I know quite a bit about 70-71 GTs so if you are curious about something feel free to ask.

Hi thank you very much I really like this car it is my favorite of all The cars I own. I plan to bring it back to showroom condition or as close as possible. Thank you I will be hitting you up as I go alone with the build to keep me on track.

When I got the car in the avatar (Dart Custom) painted last, I didn't want the vinyl top again (it had one of those really dark green ones originally). After a few years and seeing some of the rare cars that were built with painted contrast color top, I've always wished that I had kept the trim and painted the top black to match the hood and stripe, but trying to redrill all the trims holes sounded like a disaster. You could order the car like that, but the big deal at the time was pushing Vinyl tops.

These two national sales deals included: Vinyl roof, whitewall D-78-14 tires, Deluxe wheel covers, Deluxe interior vinyl trim, Rim Blow Steering wheel, left remote mirror, Carpets, Vinyl body side mouldings, front and rear bumper guards, wheel lip and belt mouldings and a free automatic transmission.

I plan to put a white butt stripe on the purple car and wanted to retain the option of painting the top white to match the stripe. We'll see.

By the way, This is my 1970 Swinger with its original Vinyl top! (complete with factory wrinkles on the C pillar)

You know your stuff I just pulled up the pictures of how I found the car and sure enough there is the emblem you mentioned on the glove box that is awesome.

Originally it would have had the deluxe steering wheel with a padded 3 spoke center and a horn ring, unless it was ordered with a Rim-Blow wheel as an upgrade. They make the steering wheels new (pebble grain 3 spoke), for some reason you almost never find
them not all cracked up. I'm looking for a black center piece for these , too so if you find 2 keep me in mind. They used these on B-bodies too, both Dodge and Plymouth, so if you find a Plymouth wheel and need the little Dodge center medallion, I think I have extras.

My wheel on my Swinger is the standard one at far left. Very spartan for lack of better word. had to put a wheel cover on for grip, very "skinny" :)

I've seen a few cars with the painted roof (with the vinyl top moldings). There is a '69 Dart local to me with B7 & B5 blue color combination.

'69 Dart (B5-B7).jpg

In fact the gentleman that was the previous, previous owner of my Dart GT has an orange '70 Swinger with a gloss black painted roof.

Do you know if '71 Darts had the painted roof option? Was there a fender tag code for it? I assumed Chrysler may have offered the painted roof option in certain geographic areas where the sun would bake the vinyl.

My bone Stock '70 Swinger 340 came loaded with options, including the 727 and factory AC. My build sheet shows it came with the S79 wheel. I might have a spare in the garage attic. I'll check and get back to you. My interior is B7 Jamaica blue.

Str12-340. In your picture of your white dart it has two emblems on the side of it. What is the emblem under the word dart, I am working on a 70 and can't figure out what the emblems are supposed to be. I do have a dart emblem that fits in two of the holes.
Here is a pic of pin holes if you can help me out

Congratulations! You are the proud owner of a 1970 Dart Custom 2 door! The lower badge says Custom. Layson's restorations have that badge new, made from the single NOS badge I was able to find after 2 years of searching.. This is the high end finish Dart (thus the LH23 at the beginning of your VIN). My Dad bought my Custom new in 70 and I bought it from him in 1975. The biggest difference is the interior, but you can get all the soft stuff new from Legendary. Do you have a Dart Custom logo on your glove box door or at least the 2 holes in the metal door below the plastic bezel. I can help you with lots of details about these cars if you are interested. Will post pics here soon. SEE PM
