Shipping Damage New Headers

-
"MY" money isn't damaged "enough" to accept an imperfect product.
I wasn't real impressed with the whole damned header to tell you the truth. Pretty crude around the port flange. Looked like some rust around the collector flange. The ceramic coating looked a little thin in the hard-to-reach areas.

Mine came with a couple scratches too, but they were painted black. I touched them up. One thing I learned in this hobby is that there will be little imperfections sometimes. Because you can't see the imperfection, I wouldn't send them back. It's not a piece of fine china. They were stacked with some other headers. I'm sure

Looks more to me , like they have been attempted to be installed !-------did I say that right ?

Thanks for the responses. A new set is on it's way and Summit issued a call tag. Hopefully the next set isn't worse. Like 4spdragtop said. Gotta call them out. The boxing should have been better in my view. Not real sure its shipping damage but the box is dinged up and the bag is ripped so... Summit is taking care of it.
I would love to be able to go thru the piles of parts that are returned to Summit.
I just wonder what they do with it all? Mostly like goes in a dumpster.

FedEx dropped and broke my stroker crankshaft. How high you got to drop a crankshaft to break It? It was re boxed in a Eagle crankshaft box, with formed foam saddle and 4" of foam at each end. That crank arrived perfect With only 1 corner wrinkled.....gorillas!

Send me that dumpster! Lots of stuff is RTV (return to vendor) but some is non RTV- field destroy. I worked at Circuit City and the cheap stuff was all Non RTV, but the high end stuff was RTV -able. Ever see an Amazon pallet auction? Pallets of returns, shrink wrapped and sold for like 50 bucks. Some stuff is new some stuff is in pieces.

I didn't read the whole thread but I love those headers, I have a set. I did have to put one little bonk in the drivers side to give some clearance for the steering cupler...manual steering but that's it. Can't put a pic up because the car isn't here right now.

The recent undamaged headers came in a box that was more beat up than the box the damaged headers came in. The damage to the boxs looked to be in the same places.

this was needed to clear the T bars on both sides. Dougs headers

yep the engine is sitting as low as I can get it. Close to spec. Its as if the edelbrock alum heads are a little wider at the exhaust sealing face or a diff angle. The engine doesnt care about the dings in its pipes. 1.03 T bars also but I dont think thats the issue. Theres still only about 1/16 clearance. I cant stand it when the exhaust is bumpin on sumpthin.

Which store is it going back to?
I get to the original store in Barberton (Akron) a few times a year. My first stop is always the closeout/return aisle. A lot of the returned or damaged stuff is shrink wrapped and piled up on the floor or racks with huge discounts. Sometimes 10 cents on the dollar. There are usually QR codes that can be scanned with a phone that takes you to the appropriate catalog page and a lot of times parts are missing. As you can imagine, there is LOTS of Chevy junk but occasionally there is some Mopar stuff. I've gotten a few items but it's a matter of luck.

Well there is your answer "as low as I can get it" when you shim the mounts it raises the engine lifting it away from the T bars.

I wonder if shaving a little off of the header flange would have helped? Just a little angle up there could really throw the lower pipes and collectors.

They have a section called discount, they just resell for cheap (no returns)
