Are the six big block water pump housing bolts on a big block wet or blind? Thanks guys!

The four outermost are wet. They go through to the block. I'm not sure about the others.

I could check some time this week. We don't have the housing on my son's 440 yet. I'm still trying to bead blast the POR15 engine paint off...

It's not biggie, Jim. I'm just buttoning up the front of my 400 and figure someone here may know off-hand. I'll probably just put sealer on all of them to be safe, Thank you.

I just plunked a screwdriver into all those holes on a 400. The bottom 4 holes are blind and the top two are through into atmosphere. No water in any of them.

I thought all the w/pump housing bolt holes that went into the block were blind.

I know you're talking WP housing bolts, but since you're there--the top left timing cover bolt goes through into the valley on some (all?) castings. Some thread sealer on that one keeps oil seeps away.
