PCV replacement

It should just pull out.

The rubber gets hard and brittle, so the remnants of the pcv valve might not come out easily.

You might want to pull the valve cover so you don't drop chunks of plastic into the engine.

You could also try to pry out the rubber grommet or cut it out if you have a replacement.

If it broke off while you were trying to remove the pcv valve I would remove the valve cover. If it broke cause you bumped it, first try to pull it out.
