Annoying new neighbors

-
I'm sure I'll become the annoying/a**hole neighbor when my floor pans get here. It's gonna get really loud around here when I start cutting

I have good neighbors I live in a quite small town the only loud noise is at my house when all my kids and grand kids come over for or annual shaving cream fight.
HO yes real loud I have 17 grand kids and 8 of my own kids and we have a blast but in the day time and the neighbors all like watching me get a face full of shaving cream. lol

There's a big difference when the noise is a means to an end.......The PITA is the chronic crap that never goes away!

I have a neighbor across the back lane that has been a pain in the *** for most of the nearly 8 years that I've been here. His house has been in a constant state of "construction/renovation" for about the same length of time. He has had friends or relatives who park their vehicles directly across from my garage door on multiple occasions, making it nearly impossible to get in or out of the garage. Has happened at all times of the day and evening, one day I came home from work to find a U haul truck blocking the lane completely and several piles of insulation strewn around the truck.
We have called the police, after any attempts to talk to him were met with insults and four letter words. The last time was last fall, I was changing the oil in my wife's car when a familiar truck pulled out and parked opposite my garage door. I had seen it several times and had asked in a less than polite manner to get it moved a couple years ago. This time I went over to the truck and politely asked the driver to please not park there since it was blocking my access. He said he was just going to quickly drop something off and he would be gone in a couple minutes. I said ok, no problem and went back to work in my garage. Not 2 minutes later, the idiot neighbor is in the lane screaming at me, calling me and my wife a couple of ******* assholes and the worst ******* neighbors in the world, etc. I walked out of my garage and stood on my side of the lane while he continued his bellowing, this was a Saturday afternoon, several other neighbors were out in their yards. As he continued his string of profanity, I just stood watching and listening, the only thing I did say was that I had asked politely that the truck not be there. After a good minutes worth of screaming and yelling, his false teeth fell out and hit the ground. It was all I could do to not lose my mind laughing at the idiot. Since then it has been pretty quiet, but the weather is getting better and he has been back to working on his house. Time will tell, and I have to go out and change the oil in my wife's car again today, plus I think I will do some more work on my Dart.

Went to hell after Bob Welch left.

Smooth Christine McVeigh, yummy yes.

Twirling witchy woman, no.

Can't imagine saying anything cross to a 7' tall guy like you and not get clobbered.
Wish I had your patience.

Should have grabbed his teeth and took off running!

This is something I am worried about. I have had the best neighbors for close to 30 years but one of them will be moving within the year. Hopefully the new ones will be as good as the existing

Yes, be worried. I say that because how you live your life and how you enjoy your property can easily be looked at different from someone else.....

Been dealing with it for 5 years. Owner turned adjacent house into section 8. The list is long including me smearing his sorry *** pitbull all over my front yard..... I should have moved 4.5 years ago. Looking to do something about it now but the market it stupid but when the crash comes I will make a change and get some land.

We now have a world full of entitled people who have zero respect for others... And I remind people that it can happen to anyone unless you have 50 acres and your right in the middle of the property.....

I have great neighbors lived here for 25 years, I was a fireworks nut back then so testing the new neighbors when I moved in i shot off a 3" salute which amounts to about a half stick of dynamite exploding about 100' in the air, two of the neighbors stopped by within a minute inquiring if i had any for sale, the rest is history. so things could be alot worse, it's how you look at at. :D:D:D

That **** would last a millisecond in my neighborhood. Our neighbor association won’t put up with it. It was a lot of work but we ran a crack dealer off!!

you know, you are honestly the first person i heard who ever had anything good to say about an HOA

Actually a few people I know that never talked about the bad neighbor situation intentionally went into strict HOA's and from the feedback they have given me it's the right move for them. Maybe not for the next guy, but I myself would only consider an HOA if I was an acre or less.....

Everyone can live their life as they choose. It's when you create an environment that dilutes someone's ability to enjoy their property. But if truth be known there is typically no help available to property owners in this regard legally. It's a respect thing. And an eye for an eye is not something I want to be a part of when I get home. The topic won't make sense until you end up with "that" neighbor...

Have you tried unplugging your Alexi to stop it from playing what your neighbor is requesting? :poke:

Is it an Agricultural area? If so and you want to rock the neighbors, consider setting up a Sawmill..... That's the option I was told fit my zoned area.... I ain't got time for that crap but if a person wants to make some noise, there it is.....

Choose to move close to race track, then don't complain about the noise.
Talk to your neighbors, I'm sure you can reach common ground on issues that bother you or them.
Don't be like the yuppies moving to new developments close to race tracks .
to all the yuppies complaining about the noise at Pacific Raceways in Kent , Wa.
screw you , the track was here long before you. lol

Well, this just gets better it seems. I was out in the garage this past Tuesday after work, got a new spacer plate for my Dart and decided to try it and see if the car runs any better than it had been. Swapped out the open spacer for the new 4 hole version that Edelbrock recommends for my carb, also put in a new fuel pump as it seemed like it might have been weak, even though I checked it a few weeks ago. Got everything together, and started the engine, now full disclosure I am presently running headers with 2.5 inch pipes into Flowmaster 40 series mufflers, ending at the rear axle. It's a bit loud. A minute or so after I start it, the idiot neighbor's wife comes out into the lane, looking like she's having a bad day, and waves to me to come out of the garage. I walk out to the edge of my garage approach, and she tells me that she has just lost someone very close, has been crying all day, and would I please not make so much noise as she is in fact having a terrible day. I said ok, give me 5 minutes to finish up what I'm doing and I'll shut it down, no problem, demonstrate that I'm not an asshole like her husband.
I let it warm up until the choke opened up and shut it off, maybe 3 or 4 minutes, I had planned to go for a road test, but under the circumstances thought it could wait, besides, my oil pressure line had developed a leak and I figured it should be fixed before I took it out again anyway.
Fast forward to this afternoon, I haven't touched the Dart since Tuesday night, went and repaired the oil pressure line and decided that I would see if in fact all of the wiring remained intact for the OE ignition system. Went through the wiring diagram and found all of the harness still mostly there. Checked for power as necessary, and connected it all back up. Started the engine again, opened the overhead door, and let it run while I filled a couple of low tires. While I'm filling the left rear, I hear my name called, and thinking it's my wife shouting from the door, I look up, nope, door is closed, no wife in sight. I hear my name again, look out the overhead door, and there at the edge of his property is my asshole neighbor, giving me the middle finger. It's maybe 4 pm, Sunday afternoon and I truly don't get what the **** his problem is, considering he is regularly running saws and pounding nails, etc in his constant home renovation that has been underway for some 8 years now.
Thinking I might invest in some cameras as I am expecting this prick to progress to the next level in his harassment. I have already caught him on more than one occasion putting his garbage in my bin, plus all the incidents of parking in the lane, and verbal confrontations. I would be looking for blood if something were to happen to my wife or my dogs, I would not be surprised if he attempted to burn my garage either.
It's not like some of the other neighbors don't make noise either, the one beside him frequently runs chain saws, snowmobiles, and dirt bikes, doesn't bother me in the least, he only does these things during daytime hours, and the few times I have talked to him he has been friendly enough. Most of the other people in the neighborhood are generally quiet, normal folks. Besides, I'm not breaking any laws, we do not have an HOA, and noise ordinance is only in effect from 9 pm to 7 am.

That would be one neighbor minus his middle finger. lol
I bet that's the same guy that sent his wife out the last time. lol
I'd have more respect for him if he got nose to nose and said " turn that F'n think off I've got a F'n headache " lol

I think I'd give him a wedgie or tie him to the rail road tracks. Just kidding kinda.
