408 SB versus BB 541

Was taking a break from working on my Dart which is almost finished. Found a 440/541 stroker kit .Kept looking at parts, heads, oil systems, cams, carbs, headers which i will probably have custom made etc. etc. I know that the entire drivetrain and suspension will have to be maxed but I was going to do it anyway. I could be wrong but it looks like the 408 is the same money as the 541 . A “friend “ who has a 200 mph ten second Porsche has been making negative comments about my Dart. I would love to smoke his ***(only in the quarter, there’s no way I’m going that fast.
Your impressions??

I wouldn't build anything larger than a 505/512 for a street car since you want to keep the oil pickup inside the pan. A 440 based 505 or a 400 based 512 will fit okay in an A body car but it does require rounding up the correct parts and then some talent/skill to put it together. A 408 or larger SB might be a little easier task. I built a 427 inch SB a few years back for a Valiant. That was a very cool combination, the car flew. I have a 512 inch B block in my Duster and even with a mild hyd roller cam and 1 3/4 inch headers it pulls hard.
