Rebuilt 727 no reverse took off pan help

I would pull the transmission completely apart and verify all the parts that he listed were on it like the Bolt on Sprague and billet parts.. if it doesn't have those parts you've got him...

at the very least, I'd air test all the hydraulic ports when you have dropped the valve body.
But, I agree, I'd be pulling everything apart to check all the clearances, and that all the seals are in place. Like that video somebody offered up, you need to closely inspect all the parts. If you catch him charging you for something which was never installed, that would certainly help to nail it as fraud, not just incompetence.

Popped the pan off to find this, tell me what u think. Looks like the band adjuster arm is cracked halfway through, how would that happen

Yup she is cracked. U will need to take the tail housing off to get the pin out to change it. By the look of the black dust in the pan it should come apart to check it over. The crap could of been in ur rad cooler and got flushed into the trans of its coming apart inside. Could also be the lining off of the rear band. Kim

Yep rear band stuck on. Servo piston is locked in applied position.
Pull it , rear band and band drum are toast.

the low/Rev servo looks weird to me. I can't tell for sure, because the picture is just barely showing it. what do u think, Kim?

The complete white spring is below the retainer, it should be flush with the case when servo is released, piston is cocked at a angle and bound up!

Mark
I can't tell about rear servo piston being billet or not, but the apply arm pocket is not a sonnax billet part, it does have the billet intermediate servo assembly, it is the red cover part.

Rear band lock up is usually caused by high line pressure, high idle apply in rev. or a loose rear band adjustment causing it to **** over and jam.

Rear piston is out way to far. Usually the rear piston is not out of the bore that far b4 it gets cocked over. The adjustment was probably way to loose to start with. Hard to tell if the rear spring is even in the case. Did u put it into reverse when it was on high idle? It is definitely not a billet rear piston. By the colour of the spring it is mid 70s. Kim

Probably forgot to put the big spring in there. I went back to the very first pic Mark posted. The bid spring is in there and the servo was t hanging down like it is in the later pics. His list says billet 2nd and 1st billet servo. So he got screwed over as the rear servo us definitely not a billet servo. Kim

yeah, maybe the reverse servo return spring is either missing or possibly broken.
I think if someone had forgotten the return spring, it would have been apparent if someone ran an air pressure check before the valve body was installed.

This Story is just a nightmare. You cannot put the rear band strut in the wrong way, it won’t fit. Looks like a stock servo that is stuck in apply position.

I have brainstormed 2 plans I can go about on this issue, well technically if I really want to spend money lol

A. I install a bullet servo and fix that whole rear servo and band issue while I while I rebuild my other 727 and once it's ready I just swap them.

B. Rebuild my other transmission and not even bother with the one in it right now even though I just bought it that sucks.

C. I try to swing buying a crt transmission without my wife knowing(most dangerous plan) lol
