If someone has a better choice let me know because i want pull the trigger. Lol

Cometic gaskets require a specific RA finish of the deck and cylinder head, & if it's not right, they probably won't seal. You may want to talk to your machinist about getting the correct finish or if the finish is correct before purchasing, otherwise I would use some Fel-pro PermaTorque gaskets if it's not a super high compression setup.

Make sure to check the surface finish on your block deck and heads. I believe the Cometic head gaskets require a fairly smooth surface finish. 65'

Its still in the car, glad i asked. What's alternative that can keep the compression up? Or just get the felpro .039" compressed gaskets?

I would probably go with the Fel-pro gaskets. If the chambers on the Stealth heads are smaller than what you have now, then that will bump the compression up some.

Have the Stealth surfaced as everyone I ever used wasn't flat. Then just use the .039" thick 8519PT1 FelPro head gasket. I used those on my 11:1 compression, 91 octane, pump gas, 451 Edelbrock RPM headed stroker to 770+ horsepower. The 8519PT1 has a a bigger bore diameter (4.505" to 4.410") than the 1009 and the smaller 1009 has in the past protruded into the Stealth combustion chamber.

And besides, you can almost buy three 8519PT1 head gaskets for the price of one 1009.

This is going on a .030" over 413 a 4.505 is way too big, they say they corrected the issue with the over hang into the cylinder. With the stock 452 heads i just used the gasket kit fel-pro head gaskets.

Good luck getting the Cometics. I ordered one for a small block in January , they are back ordered until June.

I put 1009 on my 413 4.217 bore and it looked perfect on the chamber and on the cylinders. Its not a 440 bore so it works.

It’s not the bore that bites you. It’s the head chamber. Not many guys think to check that.
Well said....kaboom starts on the top (chamber) side of the gasket.

And I have to quote you again,
It’s not the bore that bites you. It’s the head chamber. Not many guys think to check that.
....because 99% of all the internet 'fail tales' are due to the installer's lack of proper checking, even though folks usually want to blame the manufacturer.

I’d start with the 440Source head gaskets. They’re $19 a piece and should be just fine with their heads.
