Stop in for a cup of coffee

Looks like a Kimber? I like

mine
You are correct Pete, It is a Kimber, we had an instructor conference here awhile back and we were all messing around and Bossman ended up on video shooting the Kimber. It jammed. He was smoked! When I asked him just how tuned up he wanted it, he explained to me in dripping sarcasm he want it to shoot as reliably as his Glocks. I am the only instructor in our cadre that rocks a 1911. There is no end to the crap I put up with. Thus the witty picture with the bag of chips. Kind of makes me a troll! Hah! When you can shoot a single hole with a 45 ya just can’t say the thing won’t shoot! Full confession my duty pistol is a Sig 320 which I do compete with in race events. But when I get to choose it is a tried and true 1911!

So I learned something new today on a quick trip through a salvage yard. There is a 67 coronet in a local yard. New Arrival car, hasn't been there long.

So I went thinking I'd rob out the dash cluster as a spare for my 67 belvedere. I assumed they are the same.

Then I got there with toolbox in hand and realized something I never noticed before.

The belvedere has the radio mounted in the center of the dash on the metal frame.
The coronet has the radio mounted in the dash cluster.

They are different

Good Morning All! Cluster getting my covid shot but I got it on standby. Hoping my wife gets hers Monday, she's who I'm worried about, they said just show up at 6pm as they have extras. Anyhoo, the excavator showed up, dumped the clean out bucket, dig bucket on, waiting for 9 a.m. to start with stumps.

Not sure was down hard yesterday when I got back. Prob fix one of the distributor machines the vacuum pump died on my main one. Pia no one has the parts, prob have too monkey rig something.

Stupid things use leather cups riveted onto the pistons if that makes sense. They all wear out and no way can you change them to say rubber. Dumb design. I figure just mount that inside the unit as long as it pulls 18INHG I am good.

Yea, but I'm envious you get to play with the big tractor today. Better get the wife to take some pics!!

At the new place I have a couple small stumps to take out. I'll have a few more by the time I'm done cutting and thinning out a few trees. I'll have to do it the old fashion way dig a couple feet, cut it out, pour some root killer on it, and bury it.

That works, then you don't have to deal with as much mess. Nobody will take the stumps so gotta pile them up and burn them, will take some time. Also will probably have to bring in some fill to get grade back up to level, then dump some better soil on top of that.

Rent a stump grinder for a day, easy peasy.

Neighbors did that all in their front yard, have a nice lawn over it. One thing they have to deal with though is that they get sinking/low spots where the root balls were as things break down and they have to add dirt and replant the grass almost every year. But they are going for the golf course look, doubt I'd do what they are doing.
