What Lubricant: Wheel Cylinder Pushrod?

-
They pour liquid silica into retired CA smog polluter car motors at our junk yards and run them until they seize up. Then they put a big green spray paint X on them to tell the buyer that the motor is toast. Pity as usually its all the bodged emissions crap that makes 'em fail, not the pistons or rotating assembly!

Ca. No surprise.

Just like that cash for clunkers crap from#44. What a stupid program. Ruined many nice vehicles and the taxpayers paid for it.

I lived it back in the day, I tried to buy some of the cars but no way, they turned them to junk.

yes they couldn’t sell the bodies, had to be destroyed.

I wanted some interior parts out of one, they couldn’t sell them because it had not been “processed” yet. Then when it was processed they had 30 days to sell parts then had to be gone.

what a crock of ****

That stuff is ceramic, may as well have poured in a couple cups of sand.

The only motor I intentionally destroyed got 2 table spoons of blasting bead.:D

I went down to our local yard to see about an aluminum driveshaft that I could have new ends put on and every single shaft was bent to hell from their fork lift.

They poke holes in the fuel and oil pans to drain them when up on the lift. What a joke! Then of course they have about 45 day turnover...if the hulk is still there in 45 days it gets turned into a KIA (although I hear China is no longer accepting a lot of US scrap due to tarrifs) Scrap price has gone way down as there is no buyers.
