The time has come and now I have a pocket full of Biden bucks. I’m going to stimulate the economy by getting a trans brake finally for my dart. What are you guys using? Is there a particular company you’d choose? Who to stay away from? I’m leaning towards the TCI but $850. Tranny is bb 727. Already built basically. Full Manuel reverse valve body. All roller 440. 175 hp nx plate. TCI converter stalls at 3800ish 4.30 gear. What Aldo you recommend ????

And GO.

TCI is made by Joe Chrisman at Tranzact of Indy.......I got 5 of his transbrakes in use...One of them I bought back in 1994......actually one does say TCI on it cause he was producing their product and I needed one....He also makes them for Coan Transmissions also.

Mine are all in 904 trans.

904/727 use the same as long as the one bolt hole is elongated... I swapped my Pro Trans brake from one to the other. My Griner is the same.
That said I’ve had great dealings with Dave and Darren at Pro Trans. Unfortunately they fled the people’s republic of CA for Texas last year. It was nice having them fairly close in Lancaster for sure. Their new number is 254-749-5689.

another good brake is the Griner which Keith Long at 727 Specialist now makes. He can be reached at 219-718-3542

I recommend Pro Trans = I have done business with them for 30 plus years!

I understand. I’m about just over an hr north of Bakersfield in the foothills. Lol. ‍♂️

I have a Griner in the AMX, a CRT in a 904 I just built. Have not tried the CRT yet, and have a A&A that I haven't tried yet .Really like the Griner. The 727 and 904 Valve Bodies can interchange, but the 904 park rod is shorter. So make sure you have the correct one.

Protrans has been good to me ,
trying to get the 904 to react a protree and be competitive with a glide as gas as reaction goes .

if you don't have a heavy car & you don't race weekly ld get a turbo action. They are reliable and have the best service Wevegot 7 mostly ta s
If you want to keep going faster that's different

I have 2 Turbo Action RMVBs & I've not had a problem with either of them. My first one has an untold number of passes on it, it came with a 727 that I bought from a friend. The second one has maybe 100 to 200 so passes on it.

I also have the tranzact.
According to a video by John Cope, the coan, the tci are made by Joe at Tranzact and all are clones of the Griner.
According to Joe he told me he co developed the Griner brake and the two parted ways. His brakes look identical to the Griner.

This is great info as I just picked up a BB trans with a TCI brake. Was a little concerned but they don't come around every day so I grabbed it.

I bought a Coan a few months ago knowing it was a Tranzact,,,,Got it for a pretty good price.
