Weather is getting nice now we are heading into spring. Next nice day I want to give some TLC to the 273 I have in my barracuda. ( haven't done a good clean since I put the engine back in 7 years ago).

In fact, I have never cleaned an engine in my life so seeking some advice. What are your favourite tools, methods, cleaning products etc.

I Soaked Mine down with Engine Brite tonight, Tomorrow I'll follow up with Solvent and a brush for the Gunk...
This Weekend the Freshened-Up Heads and Manifolds will go back on...
Next Week I'll Lay some Paint on The Tins.

that's awesome! not sure if i want to get that involved yet. I have 3 kids between 1 and 6 years old and i dont know if time will allow LOL

I clean my engine and bay at the start of each season. My car is garage kept and doesn’t leak any fluids, so cleaining is mainly to get rid of dust, dirt and road film from the previous year.

I use cloth rags along with Windex, Formula 409 and some occasional Simple Green depending on the area and grime involved. I follow with a damp rag to remove any soap residue.

I usually take a few days to do it, focusing on one small area at a time from the top of the bay down to the pan and K frame, taking my time and not trying to do it all at once.
