Looking to swap my Slant 6 for a 318, I have the 318 sitting in my garage. I found a thread on this from 2009 but does anybody have recent info on where I can find a swap kit?

All other tips and cautionary tales welcome

>I see you already have a K-member and mounts so you are ahead of the game.
>The rear mount is the same.
>By the look of it you already have a trans and all the linkages.
So now, the engine is in there.
>Next I guess is the exhaust, so I don't see manifolds, but I guess you know what to do there,
>Next is cooling. I think the top rad inlet is different so you'll need a friend in the parts shop., to rig something up.
>All the wiring is easy peasy. I guess you'll need an ignition system.
> The fuel system also is easy.
>So that just leaves the front of the engine. Hopefully your engine comes with everything cuz nunuvit is the same as the slanty. Well the alternator can be reused.
As far as swaps go, this is basic and you got most of the bases covered. When yur done, you will need an alignment.

Before you start, I would try to crack the K-member bolts loose. They have a nasty habit of seizing. If they won't budge or seem stiff, you will need to drill tiny holes above the bolts and shoot some penetrating oil in there. Then wait a couple of days. If you tear a weld-nut out, that's a bit nasty to repair.

Wow thank you so much, this is both informative and encouraging. Should be in the 50s all week here, so I am officially out of excuses!

50s eh.... that's like 10*C, right?
We had as much as 18*C last week, and 15 today, lol I think 15*C is like 59*F. Hyup, we were basking. It was 18* and more yesterday, while I helped my 36 yr old son move from one home to another. Great moving weather. Had supper together with his three youngsters, ages 18 to 60 months. Hyup, life is good.

How about her driveshaft?
We need to know what transmission is being replaced with what, so we can figure out if it needs to be shortened or not

speedway mtrs (online) has angled thin metal pipes to reroute the upper radiator hose if you wanna go that route.
