Ya' want something REALLY GOOD? What local delicacies do you like in your area?

We have a small chain of Cuban bakeries here in SoCal, Porto's Bakery and Cafe, that makes killer sweets, breads and other things.
A couple of my favorites are their Cheese and Spicy Pepper Potato Balls (I don't think they're really very spicy so don't let the name scare you off). They're made from a potato puree filled with mozzarella, parmesan, asiago, ricotta, roasted serrano, poblano, red and yellow bell, and coated with a crispy panko crust. Available all year.

During Lent they feature their Seafood Potato Balls filled with calamari, shrimp and scallop, with garlic, cilantro, lemon zest, and tomato sauce.

During the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays they feature Turkey Potato Balls that are like a miniature Holiday dinner with turkey, dressing and gravy filling (no pic).

Their year-long regular potato balls (papas rellena) are filled with Cuban-style ground beef with onion, bell pepper, olive and Spanish seasonings (no pic).

Check 'em out at www.portosbakery.com.
If you're close enough to one of their SoCal locations, you can order online and they'll ship all over the country - arriving frozen in a styrofoam box with a hunk of dry ice. You bake them yourself.

Good stuff!
