My third of many race cars. So thankful I can still play this game after all these years. Be thankful of what you have and keep on having fun. Man I used to be a lot skinnier. Lol Hopefully Norwalk opens this year after being closed all of 2020 because of the damn China virus. Year 47 here we come

I honestly checked if Walmart was open 30 years ago before opening this:poke:

In 1991 I had already left the Burgh and been in the Navy for four years, seems like a long time ago!

I’m on year 32. Seemed like it was a lot more fun back then. I learned a lot from the older guys. They are all gone now. It’s sad.

i couldn’t even begin to count how many of my racing friends I’ve lost over the years. It hurts bad to even think about it. As I turn 65 today I know I have a lot of aches and pains but they are friendly reminders that I’m still alive.

The first picture was around 40 years ago. The second picture was about 5 years ago. Time flies.

I can certainly relate to the "a lot skinnier part " LOL !!

Funny how we will spend a fortune trying to knock 20-30 Lbs off a race car and the same can be accomplished for free by losing the same amount of body weight !!

Like most of us, you are the older guy now!! LOL.

Pass on as much knowledge as you can for the next generation. Hopefully they'll appreciate it a s much as you obviously did!

I have a car (my black duster) that I took from under 2600 pounds to 2860. Lol. Part but not all was kicking my son out of the drivers seat

30 years ago I was in the same position as I am now, wanting a fast mopar. Difference; I was 13. Now 43 closer to the dream

This will be my 27th year, started at the rip ole age of 8 lol. The development in the consistency of the cars and drivers over the past 10-15 years has been crazy. Sometimes it makes your wonder if some of the drivers really are human. Do wish they'd make a class that is 100% strictly footbrake (no buttons, no hand throttle controls, etc, unless of course the driver has a disability). But like anything, things evolve over time and just need to adapt.

Not my home track but Quaker City in Ohio tried that for awhile. Trouble is then you have two lower count classes and the guys still want high purses. Can’t do it. I watch these kids double class, buy back sometimes in both classes and wonder how the heck they can afford it. Then us cheap guys are racing against guys that had double time trials, double rounds raced and as you said it isn’t easy. I love going to big money races and have been winning more rounds by doing so. You gotta race the tough guys to toughen up. I pushed my last engine five years and I won’t be doing that again as leaks and track maintenance increases. When you get one maybe two time trials you can’t miss on over a simple maintenance job at a three day 20,000.00 a day race. There are no time trials after Friday and maybe not even Friday

Happy Birthday.

My first pass down a legal dragstrip was 50 years ago! Ouch! 1969 Charger RT. Still plugging away at 71 y.o.
Minnesota dragways in Anoka MN may be long gone but the memorys are great. I built my current car into its current configuration in 1994/1996 and have been trying to go faster ever since. Photo from 2019 at BIR in MN

Time does fly, my friend found a picture he took of me in 1981 at Dragway 42 in Ohio. He sent it to me last year. 70 AAR Cuda.

I'm now 63 and still at it a little slower and a little fatter but still not ready for the recliner.

Your turn to teach.
It's easy to partially stay a youngster and look to others.. gotta be there mentally now. Like accepting there is no great mystery in life at all hahaha and having your own set of bullwise to spread on the new youngsters. When you're all done searching for answers, that's when its time.lol

Gotta keep pushing. I’ve had my Demon since ‘83 (I was 15)
Pic is me at 17 years old.
Restoring the car now and grateful for all the help and advice I’ve gotten on here recently.
Wouldn’t change a thing except my waist size and all the aches and pains.

I was in the 1st grade in 91. Doesn't seem like it's been 30 years lol
