I think it would be fine, have you ran a Google search for battery powered mower reviews, my front yard is 1/2 an acre, I use a riding JD, but will be looking for a push mower for my othe 3 chunks of grass.
I have researched them but they all have pros and cons. I still have a tried and true Kawasaki powered JD for trim work but as times moves on so does my interest in small engine upkeep. Just looking at options. It may have to occasionally chop up a missed last feeding from the dog also lol.....
