Have any of you encountered fan noise at certain engine rpms when driving with a fixed 6 bladed fan? Thanks

Is it a oem fan?

They tend to have blades at random spacing yo keep them quiet.

Aftermarket may have not done that.

Had a 74 Dart with AC 7 blade fixed fan on that one. Sounded like an airplane prop under the hood over 2000 rpm.

Had a factory shroud also.

Gosh, I hope so. That means they're worrkin.

Slip the belt off, and make sure it's coming from the fan area, and not the pump bearing.

I can't hear my fan over 2000, cuz the headers are starting to scream and the tires are already wailing. But I have a clutch on my 7-blader. lol.

Never knew that!~ I thought it was some sort of balancing act. Makes sense now as I remember a Chrysler air raid siren using a "chopper disk" to make the siren noise, looked like a turbine compressor blade. My only experience with a "throwing star" flex fan joke was the odd noise it made...right before I shut it down and pitched it in the trash.

Tires are the same way. Random tread sizes give a random sound rather than a fixed frequency

Here is a couple of pictures, I don't know about the recording. Thanks

Looks oem to me. I would take the belt off and run the engine up to the rpm you hear the noise and be sure it is not there, as AJ/FormS mentioned.

While the belt is off you can feel the wp for play / bearing noise. The other accessories as well.

Lastly, it could be you are not used to mechanical fans and the noise they make. If your cooling system is working well, maybe leave well enough alone.

Thanks for your advice. Looking at installing a fan shroud down the road, any suggestions? Thanks
