I have been having issues finding a decent lower trunk molding on my one year only 1968 Barracuda trunk lid. I have a spare, real nice upper molding that seems to fit nicely in place of the lower. The only issue I see is that the brackets slide in a little different but can be trimmed to fit. Anyone done this yet? Any advice?

The top and bottom moldings are different. Top clips are different from the bottom. These are hard to find and expensive when you do. Good luck.

If it lines up w/ the tail lights, I say go for it .

Ya, the clips are not cheap but they are available. Laysons have them.

I already have the clips new from Classic Industries. I know they are different, but the look like the clips can be easily trimmed to slid into the top piece, to be able to use as a bottom molding.

I lined the lower mounting clips and marked them where they need to be trimmed. I then trimmed that part off, had to bend part of the upper molding to work, and slid the lower molding clips in the track. They seem to be pretty darn close but not perfect. FOr a driver, I think it will work, but for a concourse restoration, definitely not. Here are the pics I took:

While some of us get a little picky, it is always nice to see another car saved from the wrecker. Have fun, good job.
