I spent the morning scrubbing, I mean scrubbing the metal on and around these rockers. Made HUGE difference in my welds. Probably the best I’ve done yet on this thing. Which isn’t saying much lol. Couldn’t get much worse haha. But the drivers side one is burnt in now. Tomorrow I remove the bracing and finally mount the quarter panel!!
Preparation is easily 95% of a good weld. I try and try to explain that to my young gun welders and they just won’t listen, they are in such a hurry to get to next fixture. Good welders have learned how to prep the weld. Welding it is the easy part!
