Rev-N-Nator vs. FBO HRR688 ignitions

Has anyone used the HGRR688 ignition box? I have heard good things about the Rev-N-Nator but the HRR688 looks interesting. Any thoughts on it or a comparison would be welcome.

I like my Rev box had it for a decade. Worked great but I don’t drive my Mopars as much as I should. The FBO is pretty local to me bout 30min drive.
 
I had a Rev-N-Nator for awhile but sold it. The instructions state to NOT use vacuum advance so I plugged it.
In one tank of gas going to Southern CA, I got 10.6 mpg while driving at approx 65 mph. After the car show, I put in a MP Chrome box and ran vacuum advance and at the same 65 mph average, I got 12.8 mpg.
The only drawback to the Mopar Performance ECU was the lack of a rev limiter. The power was about the same.
Mileage isn't a huge factor for me with these cars but if two products give equal performance but noticeable gas mileage differences, I'm going with the better mpgs just out of common sense.
 
I have run the Rev-N-Nator box in both my vehicles, and have sold a few out here in NZ to friends. Everybody is happy with the results, and in my cases, the apparent power increase was enough to produce a smile. My buddy has a 318 powered Dodge Ram, and the power increase was almost scary...very big smiles.

I recall that they had ads out touting some magical power increase but I always doubted that. The one I got made zero difference in performance compared to a MP orange or Chrome box.

Power increase is probably more noticeable over a stock ignition when going to the Rev kit....the other performance ignitions are probably similar in performance but the rev-limiter is the main difference. They also say all the parts are made in the USA. I like mine, works good, I installed it after my MSD 6AL went out. Their place is about an hour away from me, I need to visit their cool mopar shop some time, Troy and Laura are awesome peeps!
 
That ST T03 is not made in USA. And its not even a transistor, but a voltage regulator! Symantics but truth in advertising....
 
Why can’t you use the vacuum advance with revenator?

They say that the electronic wizardry inside the Rev-N-Nator box compensates for the lack of a vacuum advance, and that the vacuum advance was hindering a faster power curve. I followed the instructions, plugged my vacuum advance, and noticed a power increase. In the case of my '70 GTX, the engine was a mere 400 HP engine...nothing fancy, so it wasn't hard to wake it up a bit.
Achieved 312rwhp on a Dyno on the first run. Unfortunately the Dyno guy was snowed under, so tuning on the fly wasn't possible. As can be seen on the printout below. This was my second session on a Dyno, a couple of years after installing a Rev-N-Nator.
I drove away quite happy. :)

I like my FBO. Have no input on the Rev.
You do need to bypass the ballast and use a different coil. Petronics 1.5 ohm? Not out in the garage to check on that. This is with a stock electronic mopar dist. The first time I hit my new 418, it went right into the rev limiter, which was set at 6200. Worked just as advertised. Was recommended to me by Mike at B3 Racing.

so all these power "increase" claims, are they seat of the pants or is there some kind of data to back the claim up? time slips??

If you can find any 70s / 80s NOS Stock of Original Chrysler Ignition Modules

OR

The older Standard LX101 , Made In The USA , 80s / 90s Ignition Modules

With real Motorola / RCA Transistors

They don’t retard dwell/timing at higher RPMs
 
I've run the FBO boxes in multiple cars for 10 thousands of miles with no failures.
Reliability is what I want.
It's about quality.
UTG has an interesting video about points verses HEI and dyno results.
IF wires are "stock" sizes , how much "extra" power/performances can one expect to push through stock wires and stock connectors.
Claims of dramatic improvements don't make sense to me.

And you where comparing this Dyno Run / Rev N Nator ECU to what ignition box prior ?
