Formula S-style 225 emblems

Since this thread has been revived from 2013, I thought I’d share what I did with the 2 brand new emblems I bought and the unfinished one I found in the wagon I bought from a lady in CA in 2004. She mentioned she bought the wagon from soneone who brought it in from Mexico (which might have explained why there was one (the unfinished one) in the glovebox. As others said in this thread, cool emblem.

Here’s the one I found in the glovebox:

I put it away and later I saw another emblem on eBay around 2006 or so. This one was finished.

I bought it and the seller (from Mexico) wanted to know if I wanted another one, which I also bought.

Fast forward to 2020 and I am in the process of converting my 65 Dart wagon to 2 door panel wagon conversion. I found the emblems in storage and wondered how/if I could use them since I had made a decision to go from a built slant to a Commando 273. I was discussing with my friend Ulf (65dartcharger) about why the car had ended up in Mexico and come back to the US. We were also talking about the Mexican emblems I had acquired. We were thinking whoever owned it in Mexico was going to add the emblem since the wagon was originally a slant. Since my wagon is getting a Commando 273, he thought if I could find some suitable size 273 numbers, I could mill the 225 from the emblems, i could probably position the 273 numbers in place of the 225. So it would have a Mexican connection! So I found these numbers on eBay:

After carefully milling the “225’s” off the emblems, I was able to position the numbers:

Ulf provided the information where the DartCharger emblems which are now installed on the Dart fenders where a DartCharger would go
