I figured out the problem with the fuel pump. Turns out it wasn't the fuel pump. What was happening was instead of pumping the fuel through the mechanical pump to the carburetor it was pumping back into the fuel cell. I have separate fuel lines for the mechanical pump and the electric pump. They both run into a Y junction with one line coming out going to the mechanical pump on to the carburetor. I installed a one way check valve on the fuel line coming out of the fuel cell for the mechanical pump and it stopped the electric pump which is on a separate fuel line coming out of the fuel cell from pumping it back into the cell instead of through the mechanical pump.. Works like it should now..Finally..
