42RH will do just fine. I specifically decided on the 42RH because of that lower first gear with a mild built 318, and 3.73 gearing. This will make this thing feel like more of an animal than it has a right to be, and will cruise at 2,400 rpm at 75 mph with OD and lockup engaged.
Also leaves a little more room for the TV cable to fit.
Ok, so with my 360 what torque converter do I use? I have the torque converter from the 99 360. Will that work? Do I need to get the one that was with the 42rh 318 donor and knock the weights off?
