Please check out the last 2 pages of my build thread on how to fit this thing in your sons car. 69 barracuda and 67 dart are going to be the same in this regard.
I looked over you thread. Wish I would have seen it 2 days ago. Everything I had read said remove the whole crossmember arch so I already cut it out. I will definitely use it for further reference.
