Time for truth.
This question is NOT for dealers, owners of junkyards or salvage yards. I'm talking JUST the regular people.
Cars in your shop, your garage, in the back yard, at a buddy's house...add them up. What is your BIG number?
Me? I had 11 at one time including the Wife's 2 cars.
I haven't been a "One car" guy since 1986.

1990/1991 when I was living in Gainesville Florida I had 9 Mopars at one time. In the picture are my ‘64 Dodge D300, 71 Scamp, 318/auto, 75 Duster 360/727, 70 Swinger 340/727, 68 Dart GTS 340 4 speed.

Not seen are my 1970 Duster 340/727, 76 Duster S6/904, 1969 1/2 440-6/auto super bee, 71 GTX 440-6/ 4 speed. I have single pics somewhere of these.

Crazy:
5 vehicles right now, all with a special purpose, all have good clean bodies and good condition.

All older than 2003, cheep license plates.

1. 2000 E150 Ford Van,
Main Vehicle, tow vehicle,
cross country traveler

2. 90 Dodge Caravan, slop vehicle
For going down muddy gravel roads and in the salt/snow slop of Winter. Keep other vehicles nice.

3. 98 Plymouth Voyager, Florida vehicle

4. 2003 Dodge Caravan, nice spare vehicle
Sits parked right now, ready to go.

5. Dodge D100 classic pickup

Always hated the thought of having any car payments and or spending 30 grand on a new car being I can fix my own vehicles. Got the bases covered for now.

At one time I had 19 cars, then our parents got divorced and the farm had to go, so the herd thinning began. There was a junkyard a couple doors down from the farm, lifelong friends, and when they picked up a Mopar they would drop it off at our house. I would part them out, split the money with them, and call them to take the hulk. I’m into the hobby with my brother, so some were his, some were mine, but all were lined up behind the tool shed, inside the tool shed, under the front lean to of the tool shed, in the little 2 car garage, here and there!.....

12 right now, mostly early A bodies and a few b bodies. A few of them parts cars, most projects. I’m hoping to cut down the herd to 5 or so in the long run, just trying to figure out which ones to get rid of.

Wish I took a picture........Had 5 Demons, 2 Chargers, 3 Dusters, 2 Chevettes, 2 75 Dodge pick-ups, and a Volkswagon Beetle all lined up in the back yard.

Licensed and insured- 3 (not counting wife's car or my scooter)

Roadworthy but not tagged- 1

Yard drive-able- 2

Not running- 5

I think I'm at my high point, since I actually have places to keep them now.

Currently 22 cars and 5 bikes. 1 boat.
Most of these cars are indeed registered as I am inside city limits.

I've had just under 50 cars at one time. Have not gotten to the 50 number.
I'm not a flipper by any means of the word. I can't make a dollar on cars.
They are my hobby.

The goal is a 5th gen viper. Get my 200 M.P.H. slip
And a hyabusa to get that same 200 M.P.H. slip.

The one that dies with the most cars wins !

Mo-power to yah . . .

I need to show this thread to my sweetie. She thinks I'm a bit off in the car department, and I only have six plus one I'm housing for a friend. I can see I'm a beginner in this arena. :D

Back in the 80's into the early 90's, Id just at any one time, maybe 15 or so. Everything from parts cars, to projects, to cars in middle of resto, to drivers. Not counting 2 sometimes 3 pickups. Mopars were plentiful and easy to find and all of it was fun.

Probably shortly after Mama died in 84. Daddy kinda got into it a little bit with me findin old stuff to kinda hoard and fix up. I think we had 13 at one point.

Peaked at 31 back in the late 80s. I was a "type" collector and tried get first year of the body style. Had about 17 running and licensed and a few times I drove a different car to work each day for a two week period, had 14 converts; keeping the batteries up and the oil changes was a chore. Changed jobs in '90 and didn't have the time anymore to manage so many, so started selling, down to 6 now, still have a couple from over 40 years ago, probably should go to 3 at this point in life.

My wife and I have 9 right now..... anyone want to buy something? LOL.... with my son's two in the yard - 11.

I totally agree with half a fish! I thought sure I was the one with the problem, she kept telling me. It is clear to me now that I am just scratching the surface of a disease. At a mere seven licensed and insured rigs I am embarrassed to even post. I bow and scrape to all you guys!

I have 6 cars currently most I’ve ever had.

Around 1990 I had 11 cars with 9 of them licensed and insured.
It was just my wife and I driving them, the kids were little. One day I realized how ridiculous it was to have a parking lot in my yard and sold all but four. Back then you could by liability insurance for six months for $80.

$80 back then for insurance for six months, that sounds high to me, I have 5 with just liability and today it only runs $40 for six months for liability on each vehicle.
The bad thing out of the 5 with only liability, (my old stuff) the combined mileage was under 250 miles for all of them, just no time to get out and enjoy them like I should, plus maintance, battery upkeep is starting to get too much.
That does not count the 3 daily drivers and 3 project cars, plus a parts car.
So I am at 12 now, and might start selling some.
