The fender tag or build sheet would tell what the rear axle should be. But it is an H code.

Rear end's obviously been swapped. It's an old car. There could be a dead body in it somewhere.

7 1/4" axles are the weak-suck axles ---> garbage...

I broke 3 of them in 4 years behind a mild 318 with a 4 bbl...

The only thing they are good for is a stock slant 6...

Or for homemade lawn tractor use. But if it has low gears or a Powr-Lok differential, someone will want it. Let us know what you find on the tags on the cover if they’re still there or under the cover if they’re not.

It would seem to me that a previous owner kept the 8 3/4” out of the car, and just swapped in the 7 1/4”. So, the drums would be worth saving, they will fit a small bolt pattern 8 3/4”, but the rest is not worth much, unless you have a project car that needs to roll around the driveway. I usually keep one around for that purpose.

Not if it has 9" brakes it won't.

Are these wheels worth anything Magnum 500 Wheels 14 X 5 1/2 Tire And Rim 5 On 4 1/2 Bolt. / Matching set from a 1972 challenger 340 car

are there any frame numbers to match the vin ?

I believe there is a body number on the underside of the trunk lip, on the drivers side under the seal. You might be able to feel where it is by running your fingers along the underside and feeling for the indentations, then take a pic with your phone. I’m not sure is there’s any other locations, package tray or radiator support come to mind tho.

I had a 7.25 from my old '67 Valiant I gave away to some hippy off Craigslist who had a blow up rear up in his hoopty. He was stoked.

I've had a free one for over a year no takers yet! Its probably gonna wind up being a cart axle.

what's a original 7 1/4 duster rear end worth ? I am going to sell mine as I upgraded to 8 3/4 and could use the money back. Also have a set of 4 aluminum slots small bolt pattern , and the rear wheels are wider than front , may be factory unsure but what would a good price for the wheels be ? May list them here but would be local pickup , just trying to find a value at the moment before listing locally on market place or craigslist
