ok folks found a 71 360 block and preparing for 408 build... 450-500 hp
what are you guys running for cam? i will be using a scat rotating assembly...
and would like to run trick flow heads? which ones? looks like there are a few choices?
what other components would you folks recommend? all input respected....

I put Eagle rods in my 408, only a little more than redoing my magnum rods.

My son built a 408 for his 65 in my avatar. Scat internals, aluminum heads but I don't remember who's. Went with a lunati voodoo cam at .513/.533 lift and 1.6 roller rockers. Running 2800 stall convertor and 3.91 gears.

(Sent you a pm about the original 71 pistons)

Running this cam on my 408.

Trick Flows are back in stock at Summit. I bought a pair on Tuesday 5/4 and arrived 5/5. Get them now before they run out again!

I’m running Scat balanced rotating assy in my 416 -340 based- stroker

I’d imagine more near the 450 hp range

ported Edelbrock heads
M1 single plane (for track use)
9.7:1 measured compression
Silver Claw “750” double pumper
TTI stepped headers
Comp steel roller rockers

Comp 274-S solid cam
236/242 @ 0.050
.502/.511”
110 lobe separation

this is how it idles with TTI 2 1/2” full exhaust and their Dynomax turbo mufflers

the turn downs were changed to TTI tips when I got a chance to lick them up.

My dyno max mufflers from TTI droned like crazy at 2000 rpm. Changed over to pypes race pro’s and no more drone and picked up a solid 1.5 10ths
