Yeah it is
We decided to get one last winter when rhw power kept going out

I'd have to check the exact numbers but it is somewhere in the 5000 watt range

Perhaps not strong enough to run the entire house, but I got my breakers divided in essential and non essential and it did just fine last nite

My freezer stayed on, the sump pumps worked and we had light in the rooms we were in, so all is well

If I ever strike it rich I may have one of the general units installed, that run on natural gas and fire up automatically, but for now, this worked just fine
I need to wire mine in someday I have a 5,000 watt as well and run extension cords and usually after getting it all set up and ready the power comes back on.
