I keep seeing people mention shipping through Fastenall. We have a Fastenall store here in Topeka. They sell all types of fasteners among other things. Are they talking about those stores shipping things?

Fastenall has stores all over the country, and their own trucks that go store to store to supply them. They have extra room on their trucks, so they move some outside freight to help with their overhead costs of owning those trucks.

You call them (one of their main dispatchers) fill out a shipping order.

You give them a size and weight of the pallot you are shipping, they give you an estimate of the cost.

Ships from store closest to the shipper to the store closest to the receiver. You have to pick up from the store and bring it to your home or business.

I called my local rep about shipping to California from PA couple months ago. They had restrictions due to covid. Basically east coast to west wasn't happening then.

They have a on line site called 3pl. I have used it a bunch of times. Make sure the two stores participate, the virus cut some out also there are a few states you cannot ship to California is one for sure. Easy peasy to do. Fill out the form with a picture of the item to ship, must be strapped to a pallet. Once you get the request back if your happy with it drop it off to the store near you. Next time they get a delivery it goes on the truck to thier main warehouse in the area. Next time they go to the pickup store it arrives and the buyer picks it up. One great thing is you can pay for the shipping or the buyer does upon pick up. Hope it helps.

You cant ship to cali anytime agriculture restriction, you can ship out though.

The only real drawback to Fastenal is that they ship at their convenience. The way it was described to me is when you drop your pallet off at a store, it is picked up by a truck going to the nearest distribution hub, if there is room on the truck. Once it gets there it sits there until they have a shipment to the hub that serves the destination, if there is room on the truck. Only then when a shipment is from that hub to the final destination (the Fastenal store) does the pallet move, if there is room on the truck. If your Fastenal is in Wherethehellarewe, AZ and sells one bolt a month, you may be waiting some time.

True think the longest for me was three weeks from WA to PA. Hell for the price you cant have it all. I shipped engines for $150!
