Where does this spring go???

I just finished putting the brake pedal and parking brake lever assemblies back under the dash in my 66 Dart and can't figure out where this spring goes. Is it even original??? I already have the shorter spring installed for the parking brake lever under the dash.

Any ideas where this spring goes???
