b motor into a body

You can check out my build as well.. originally a 318 (long gone when I bought my project).

-440
-manual transmission
-1 3/4” TTi Shorty headers
-10.5" 130 tooth flywheel
-bellhousing #2468372
-TTI Z bar and ball stud mounts
-power steering
-1.03” torsion bars
-Trans-dapt mounts
-RobbMc clockable starter
-699 oil pan
-17” rigid fan (even shallow style fan clutch didn’t work for me)
-22” cheap radiator and no shroud (works great so far, but I’m at pretty low HP at the moment.. 1977 motorhome 440)

TTI has good info on their website about what fits and what doesn’t.

I first built/installed a 383 with TTi long tube headers (fit just fine) and a mini starter from 440 source. The 383 went south on me, so then I went with a used 440 from a 1977 motorhome. Which immediately put me into the Tri-Y header category... the long tubes no longer fit, but as others have said, there are a couple more options. And also forced me to change to the RobbMc starter.

I also bought a full frontal accessory kit from 440 source (power steering pump, pulleys, belts, alternator, brackets.. awesome fit and no fuss).

Do all your brake lines, fuel lines, etc BEFORE engine install.

To make things easier during install, pull the steering column, and wait to install the master cyl (or hang it out of the way like I did) until after engine install. Also, installed from above without any trouble. Others like to drop the car down into the motor/trans/K member.

I couldn’t have done it without all the help of these fine people. I was almost totally green when I started this. Good luck and have fun!!!
