Thanks guys. That's strange considering the car is an automatic trans car. It's definitely not a throttle return spring. The spring throw is very short - about 1.5", and the spring is relatively stiff. It came from under the dash somewhere. I'm wondering if a previous owner may have just threw the spring on as a non-stock brake pedal return, even though it's not necessary.
