Cable shifter issue, please help!

I have TTI headers in a Dart Sport & had to use thick, long HD tie wraps to pull on the cable to keep it away from the headers. Use 2 and keep checking on them. I worry about them getting brittle & eventually breaking. You might be able to find something existing to use as an attachment point for the zip ties or add something to the firewall. A clamp might be better, as long as the cable doesn't get kinked or bent too much.

Buy a spare cable.....just in case.
Did you run your straight out and loop under and back the way the instructions call for on the shifter instructions? Or did you deviate it left or right significantly? I am wondering if I can loop it over the bellhousing or up under the master cylinder, although this will lead to a pretty tight turn behind the starter and I will still have one tube to deal with.
