Cable shifter issue, please help!

Which shifter? Cable in from the front or rear? A picture would be great. Might get some good ideas. As of now, here's what we're dealin with.

Its a megashifter on a 904, I have had the shifter for 25 years new in the box finally decided to put it in something. Typically mounting location bolts to the mount on the front left corner of the pan facing towards the back of the car.
