My brother bought a 440 source stoker kit to build a 500 ci out of a 440. The engine is fabulous, but we're struggling with engine placement. He's no longer around and had installed Schumacher motor mounts in the 68 barracuda (convertible, no ac). Schumacher is no longer around. My brother had to grind the steering box for clearance but I've found the steering assembly (pitman arm?) rubs the oil pain. Has anyone done a swap using 440 source and Schumacher? And before we start modifying more... any recommended alternatives to Schumacher for motor mounts?
Thanks,

Did you try lifting it up and putting a 1/4" shim in for clearance? Sometimes it doesn't take much.

'67-72 A-Body B/RB Installation

This shows how to locate engine in what would be a factory location

Footnote #39

The positioning of the engine effects everything as far as how high it’s installed etc. What oil pan etc is being used. Some just don’t work in the A bodies. I did a 440 in my 71 Demon which essentially has the same dimensions as the Barracuda. I used a 30930 Milodon oil pan which I had to dimple for the idler arm. Idler is passenger side, pitman is driver side. I did use a Direct Connection k-frame for the big block. It also makes a difference if using a fast ratio pitman and idler as they are longer. Sorry long winded but trying to give what I learned. The stroker kit has zero bearing on the install unless it required an external oil pick up on the pan.

Just cant remember the details off the top of my head, but you may want to search threads for some more info. I know i've seen posts here regarding special (FACTORY) pitman arms, drag links, and i think even the steering arm, some of these parts were one year specific as well, that give an additional drop... and of course, there are certain factory pans that work better for an Abody BB swap (187?). I had a link to the special steering items saved somewhere, cuz i know theres a company out there still selling them today. HTH, Lefty71
