Who's got a Battery powered push mower? Any worth a hoot?

Wife likes to mow here for exercise. Always ended up spilling gas all over the mower. The Toro is plug and play. Cuts well so far

I got a free electric mower from a disgusted customer that needed a new battery. Battery was 80 bucks but turned out to be 2 12v "Powerwheels" in series in a case for 24v total power. This mower sucks. It may mow a golf green but put some 2" grass in front of it and you have to mow 1/2 a stripe at one time or it will bog to nothing and it barely has the beans to bag the clippings. I guess all the new models are 40v+ and thats good news. Maybe I'll try another 12v cell for 36v on this turkey. Hey, it and the batteries were free so I gave it a shot. Maybe ill bone it out for a bike or scooter motor.....

I just bought a 46V E-GO self propelled at Lowe's. 21" cut with 60 minutes advertised run time. I was happy to take the gas Toro to the dump. Has lots of power and does a a great job on my lawn. More time to work on the current build now.

I've had an Earthwise 24volt model for about 6 years. The part of my property I mow is about 1/2 acre. It will mow that and then need a charge, but once your done you plug it in and charge for the next time. Last year the battery started crapping out and not taking a good charge. I forget how much, but the factory battery was expensive. I found a youtube video where someone showed if you open up the removable batery case it contains 2 12v, and he posted links to where you could buy batteries with the same specs on amazon. Cost me $45 for new batteries and it was good as new again. The nice thing about a battery operated mower is that it is about as quiet as a window box fan. I'm sure the newer higher voltage models would have more torque and longer use time before needing a charge.

That's the same Style battery Pack mine took. Had the torque of a ceiling fan too. Its adequate for a small touch up but didn't have a chance on my crap "natural" lawn (not seeded, just cut what grows) that was probably half weed and half crab grass anyway. I just realized that I can use the factory 24v charger for my kids 24v 360 power trike....hey, it may actually serve me after all!
<< you can run 36v on an older 24v DC lawnmower motor pretty easily as the controller is only a switch or relay, not a pwm controller...on or off. >>

You don't use email right? Still sending anything to anyone via snail mail? How about your Cell? You don't have one, right? If that's your thought process then these items shouldn't be in your arsenal lol.....

Just bustin' your chops. I'm old and lazy..... Maybe I should just call Biden and ask for a SNAP card to pay for lawncare lol...
