2021 11th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Time To Burn Some NITRO!!!

-

I'm sorry to see the Winternationals postponed, but I understand why.
Restrictions are easing in California but mid-April was too early to be able to have any sizeable crowd of spectators.
Today is my 1-year anniversary that I've been working from home in SoCal. I received notice today that the company I work for is expecting all employees to be back in the office on June 1st.
The current NHRA national event schedule has two open weekends before the start of the Western Swing. I would think the "Winter"nationals could easily slide into one of those weekends - the event name would certainly be out of place happening in June/July.

Thanks!
Two things to report on about working from home...
* My dog is extremely happy to have me home all day. It means a lot more ear scratches and belly rubs!
* Everyday is 'casual Friday'

Happy for your 4 legged friend, they are all getting more attention these days I bet, or wish they all are :thankyou:

Posting this a little earlier than usual, but with the postponement of the 2021 Winternationals the next event is now the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas, April 16-18.
So, here's a reminder on 4-Wide event scoring.

The 4-Wides are scored differently. We're using the same scoring this year as previously used and, again, this scoring is only for the 4-Wide events, both Las Vegas and Carolina.

Points change for 4-Wide events ONLY!!!

Same rules as the past several years:

These events only have 3 rounds of eliminations. Event scoring will be similar to the NHRA points scoring.

Qualifying position bonus points are the same as always

Each pro elimination round is run with 4 cars per race rather than 2, and 2 cars advance from each of the first 2 rounds of eliminations.

First round: Four races of four cars each. The 1st car of each race to cross the finish line will get 10 points, the 2nd car will get 5 points. Eight cars advance to the second round of eliminations.

Second round: Two races of four cars each. Same scoring as the first round. Four cars advance to the final round of eliminations.

Final round: One race of four cars. 1st Place finisher will get 10 points, 2nd Place will get 5 points, 3rd Place will get 3 points, 4th Place will get 1 point.

Same scoring for quickest e.t. and fastest speed for the event and for any national record set at this event.

Again, this scoring will be for the 4-Wide events only.

:)Wow, just checked back on this and I did not expect to even earn one point let alone win the first event.
Definitely coming back next year.

It seems like forever since the Gators in Florida!

Finally, it's time for your 'Tuesday before the event' reminder for the Denso Spark Plugs Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas that are scheduled to start Friday, April 16th.
Current forecast calls for high temps of 77F on Friday, 76F on Saturday and 78F on Sunday with sunny conditions all three days and less than a 2% chance of rain.
The current entry list shows:
15 Top Fuel
19 Funny Car
18 Pro Stock

14 Pro Stock Motorcycle

As always, check the entry lists to make sure your driver pick is racing.

It's time to get your picks posted and go racing again!

Done...and since you didn't change your picks from the Gators, I'll treat them as 'on time' and no penalty for being either late or carryover

Weather should be nice out there. LA has a mild Santa Ana thing goin on. Desert was usually very pleasant during those events.
