How much lift is lost on any LA engine because of the push rod angle off the lifter? I’m going to stick the cam in the lathe to check actual lift with a dial indicator but need to know how much is lost.

I had just assumed you could measure the base circle and the lobe, then subtract. makes sense the angle would throw things off a bit.
 
Alot! With a .557 sft in my last 340 with w-2 heads, i had actual .532 lift at the valve retainer. So the 59* lifter angle doesnt help
 
I know it changes as lift gets higher but I read .005 - .015 lose.

THE trick that Bob Glidden did to make that 79 Arrow fly in pro stock. Welded up the lifter holes then drill new ones to line up straight up to rocker, Chrysler made one of the new R blocks the same. Hemi has the same problem, only B-RB engines are correct. The block was designed for the poly head and Chrysler didn’t want to tool up another block to make the LA heads work right.
Had to correct what I wrote.
