Jegs (ECM) review !!!!

The 'sand' may have been a dessicant. Absorbs moisture over the lifespan of the ECU.

Made in USA , ecm sold thru jegs is this unit actually capable of 7500 rpm operation?
Made in usa I figured it must be decent quality or is just the box it comes in made in USA !!!
I have purchased Accel parts for Buell electronic to points conversion and a few items contained in box were made offshore .

Why would anyone knowingly purchase and use in their classic car such a cheap piece of crap.
I just dont understand

Pic of the inside of the bottom part of the fake one. That is where the silicon should be. Im curious if its an empty case or not.

More discussions of this on this other post below: post #60 is a good place to start.

Maybe you can help look into this to see how well they are built, and where the failure points are ?

This is inaccurate on a pound for pound level. This has been proven over and over many times and seen many times on this board by actual engine builders on ether there very own dyno or a third party dyno. The engine builders and/or third party dyno operators have no dog in this as there are not sponsored in anyway shape or form by the ignition companies.

The high energy multiple spark discharge ignitions from other companies have been found by way of the dyno sessions to produced less power. Ignoring the facts and just parroting the other manufacturers results is spreading false information.
How well the “Jegs” kit performs next to another ignition system remains to be seen. Also the benefit or adding a rev limiter is nice but not always needed or wanted for the task at hand. If you yourself need it, that is one thing. Just because you need it doesn’t mean everyone else must have it or must have the ability to add one on there set up even if they never use it or have need for it.
Compare ignition systems on as close to a level ground as possible. Don’t just repeat and go right to “Well the MSD 7series is way better & ......”
Amen

I had one of those Jegs blue boxes on my car last summer, it ran fine, but once warm it was hard starting, I didn't trust it. I took it off after a few months, put my old stock one back on, and kept the blue one for a spare.
