And now parking brake issues 66 Dart

I back again with more questions, sorry if I'm wearing you guys out.

My car was purchased with a dragging parking brake cable. It was broken at the equalizer area (the threaded rod section) and at the left side rear brake. I may or may not be missing some components as they may have fallen off at some point before I owned it.

I purchased a new front cable from Inline Tubes, and the other cable that goes from the threaded rod to the rear brakes. I also purchased new cables that go to the brakes drums on both sides, they fit correctly where the old ones where located. I'm about 99 percent sure the cables are all correct because I have the old cables and they are the same or a bit longer than the old ones. But . . .

Problem is that when all is hooked up (I followed the pictures in the service manual) I'm about 4 inches too short. Is there a third cable for 66 Dart GTs?. The manual seems to show just two. Anyone have pictures of how these 66 dart is routed and the components?

I was thinking of adding a threaded barrel connector to extend the threaded rod? Is that an acceptable solution?

Thank you.
Jay
